Work History

Ultrasound Technologist

1 Year 10 Months
Shannon Clinic (Harris) | 09.2021 - 07.2023

At this clinic, I was cross-trained from radiologic technology to ultrasound. I mostly scanned women throughout their pregnancy or for any other gynecological issues. I also saw a variety of general outpatient
studies such as; abdominal, thyroid, liver/gallbladder and soft tissue. My duties included:

  • Writing in depth reports for radiologists and physicians as some doctors did not go through radiologists before the merge.
  • Collaborated with physicians to discuss imaging results and recommendations.
  • Carefully scanning to not miss anything and be detail oriented while still giving the best patient care/experience possible and in timely manner.
  • Keeping my room clean, comfortable, and stocked at all times
  • Reviewing patient priors beforehand to get familiar with any previous or existing diagnoses

Radiologic Technologist

2 Years
Shannon Hospital | 09.2019 - 09.2021

Throughout my x-ray career at this hospital I worked a variety of different shifts. 10-hour evenings, 7am days, 16-hour shifts during the peak of COVID, and lots of call for overnight shifts. Performed various duties related to x-ray technology.

  • Covering ER and floor patients as quickly and efficiently as possible
  • Running up to the OR in between x-ray exams for many different surgery cases such as; orthopedics, general, and
    neurosurgery
  • Setting up and assisting in a variety of fluoroscopy cases including: lumbar punctures, myelograms, arthrograms, VCUG's,
    and swallow studies
  • Assisting radiologist in needle localizations for pre-op breast biopsies

Radiologic Technologist/ Guest Ambassador

3 Months
Direct Orthopedic Care | 05.2019 - 08.2019

At DOC, I worked as a radiologic technologist and a guest ambassador.. which is a fancy way of
saying front desk staff. Here is where I learned how to:

  • schedule patients to multiple different locations in the DFW area to their specific providers
  • verify insurance, check their coverages
  • greet patients as guests to our facility instead of customers
  • take DME inventory
  • deescalate situations in regards to payments/ insurance coverage
  • As an x-ray tech we were required to take x-rays for the orthopedic surgeons, so I learned a few different ways to broaden my critical thinking skills with specific views the providers wanted.
I also acted as a medical assistant to the surgeons by taking vitals, history, fitting DME, removing casts and assisting with any pain injections or knee aspirations.

Radiologic Technologist

1 Year 9 Months
Community Medical Center | 06.2017 - 03.2019

SACMC was my first job after graduating from the radiology program. I worked the evening shift for the first year with only one other person to help me cover x-ray and CT. My responsibilities including:

  • responding to traumas in the ER and covering x-ray and CT for the entire hospital while working skeleton crew
  • trauma surgery cases
  • administering both oral and IV contrast for CT exams
  • assisting radiology assistant with fluoro cases
  • dexa scans
