Work History

Volunteer

Island Trees School District
01.2021 - 06.2023

  • I was an active participant in Key Club for 4 years, and gave back to the community by doing team-based fundraising activities. This includes purchasing Cancer Bears to raise money for Breast Cancer research, donating to food drives, hosting bake sales, and helping out the Levittown Kiwanis Club by acquiring Supermarket Gift Cards.
  • Helped organize books on select Mondays, to help out the Elementary School librarians since young children tend to leave out many books without putting them back, and the librarians have other responsibilities.
  • Created cards for the organization, Cards for Hospitalized Kids.
  • Made cat toys for an animal shelter.
  • Helped middle school students appreciate STEAM through fun activities.
  • Participated in the Polar Plunge to raise money and help fight childhood cancer.

Teacher's Assistant

  • I performed at community events such as the Hicksville Tree Lighting and the Festival of Trees at the Cradle of Aviation Museum.
  • Oversaw students in classroom and common areas to monitor, enforce rules, and support lead teacher.

I continue to give back to my community, by annually participating in organizations such as Cards for Cops, the Bethpage Federal Credit Union food drive and Pete's Pantry, a local food bank. I also mentor my younger sisters' Girl Scout troops, sharing my wisdom and experiences with them at their monthly meetings.
  • AP Capstone Scholar. Completion of AP Seminar and AP Research for a certificate. Then, passing 4 additional AP exams gives you the AP Capstone Award.
  • Recipient of the Triple C Award. This award aims to recognize students' achievements due to their academic success, community service, peer leadership and overcoming personal obstacles. The Triple "C" stands for character, courage and commitment, and is signed by New York State Attorney General, Letitia James. I was the only student in my grade to receive this prestigious award at my 8th grade graduation.
  • National Honor Society and maintained an overall average of 89.5 or higher from 5th through 12th grade.
