Hi, my name is Katie Titmas. I am currently taking classes at The Ohio State University to receive my bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and working towards a minor in Robotics.
I've been working during the summer at Control Systems Company since 2021. At Control Systems we sell and manufacture ignition equipment. My first summer I started out as a production worker on the shop floor, building and assembling HV igniter tips. Then one summer I was moved to machining, I was in charge of running one of the CNC machines and checking parts. I never got to learn how to code the CNC machine, but my goal is to learn. This past summer I got to work in engineering, using Solidworks I worked on updating production folders and designing a guide for manufacturing the igniter tips.
Attending The Ohio State University, I have learned various skills including MATLab coding, Solidworks, and Microsoft Office applications. I also worked in several groups, which helped me become communicative, organized, flexible, reliable and a team player. My goal is to learn everything and anything about what I'm working on. I like to be hands on, but also enjoy the design aspect of engineering.
