Additional Information

At Texas Tech, I was a part of a volunteer sorority called Miller Girls. Miller Girls is a non-Greek sorority whose purpose is to give back to the Lubbock community. Miller Girls started off as a philanthropic arm of the Miller Brewing Company. Miller Brewing sponsored these girls, sending them all over Texas to do charitable work in their name. In 1977, some of the Miller Girls thought it would be a great idea to involve this organization on various college campuses. With that, the Miller Girls had to break ties with the brewing company to be affiliated with the schools, but they kept the Miller name out of respect. Throughout the years, other chapters of Miller Girls have dismembered, so Texas Tech is the last standing chapter today. In Miller Girls, we take pride in giving back to our community and we continue to take pride for what we do under the Miller name.
