Veterinary Technician

2 Years 9 Months
Dr. William Fredregill | 10.2013 - 07.2016

While working as a part time Vet Tech my duties included running the front desk by checking clients in for their appointments and conducting their initial wellness check before the vet would come in the room, logging all the information on the animals charts in the computer while talking to the owner about the pets recent behavior and if there had been any concerns or recent changes the Doctor needed to be notified about. I assisted regularly in surgery with equipment, monitoring vitals, drawing blood for labs, cleaned the animals pens, contacted owners with updates concerning their pets, staying after hours for emergency calls, and assisted Mary Bergman with the dog program clients that came through. Some of the dogs needed daily physical therapy after more serious procedures that I assisted with by following Doctor prescribed treatment. I was also responsible for feeding all the animals in the kennel area, ICU, and the over night surgery patients before I left for the night, as well as, in the morning. I was trained on how to administer IVs to canines and felines.
