KATELYNN SCANLAN

As a General Military Course Advisor at the University of Arizona, I was fortunate to earn a leadership position that allowed me to make a positive impact on the underclassmen in my program. My role involved teaching valuable leadership and personal skills that would serve as a foundation for their careers. I hosted weekly meetings focused on leadership development, providing valuable lessons that the students could apply in their own lives.

In addition to my responsibilities as an advisor, I also had the opportunity to lead and organize a Revelle event at the historic Old Main landmark on campus.

This event was held to honor our flag and was a significant undertaking that required careful planning and execution. Through my efforts, I was able to bring together a group of students and faculty to pay tribute to our country in a meaningful way.

Being in the Air Force ROTC program for the past 2 and a half years, I have had the opportunity to grow and develop in numerous ways. The program has provided me with valuable leadership training, as well as hands-on experience working with a team to complete missions and projects.

Throughout my time in the ROTC program, I have consistently sought out opportunities to take on additional responsibilities and challenges. I have participated in leadership development exercises and training programs, and have worked to improve my communication and decision-making skills. I have also had the chance to work with and learn from experienced professionals in the Air Force, who have provided guidance and mentorship as I continue to grow in the program.

• Tracked and managed money annually
• Analyzed insurance policies
• Input client information into spreadsheets and company databases to provide leaders with quick access to essential client data
• Remained calm, stayed professional and provided exceptional service on all calls, even when interacting with difficult individuals
• Typed documents, updated websites and compiled information for meetings
• Screened telephone calls and inquiries and directed as appropriate
• Managed incoming and outgoing correspondence, including mail, email and faxes
• Scheduled conferences
• Checked and opened mail, including bills and invoices
• Organized personal and professional calendars, including reminders for upcoming meetings and events
• Cared for family dogs, including feeding and walking animals several times per day
• Organized and prepared files
• Deposited checks.
• Worked closely with manager to provide effective assistance for specific aspects of business operation.

• Scanned customer purchases, supporting transactions to streamline sales process
• Trained 4 new employees each month in procedures and policies in order to maximize team performance
• Adhered to safety policies and procedures to prevent incidents
• Showed up for shift on time, dressed appropriately and eager to perform all required tasks
• Moved, secured, loaded and unloaded food, and kitchen equipment.
• Operated cash register for cash, check and credit card transactions with excellent accuracy levels.
