Growing up in the Twin Cities, I attended the International Spanish Language Academy beginning my Spanish education at a young age. Learning in such a global environment, I developed a passion for communication and expanding both my academic and personal horizons. Throughout High School I worked consistently as a babysitter and pet sitter, supporting friends and neighbors in times of need. Everything from stopping by every day to spending full weeks with multiple children I supported the parents in schedule building, driving to activities, and helping to learn fundamental disciplines like cleaning and reading. Working in customer service, and later being promoted to a barista at our local donut shop was a great way for me to learn the inner workings of a small business model as well as how to satisfy a diverse range of customers. I brought these lessons into my next job at CRAVE Restaurant. Managing schedules through online applications, customer support, and staying professional during stressful peak hours were all skills that I developed during my time here. Additionally, as the Feature Editor of my school newspaper, the Royal Page, after being a staff reporter for two years I further developed my editorial skills. From organizing my team, and our articles, as well as managing the layout using Adobe technology I was able to advance my critical thinking skills. This position allowed me to highlight community members who may not usually be recognized. Now, as a Public Relations and Spanish student at the University of Oregon, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree, I can combine my experiences to excel academically. My passion for understanding the inner workings of a company and its audiences helps me to generate effective social and managerial content. I love collaboration, learning, and any opportunity to expand my professional and academic abilities.
