I strongly believe that research has an important role to play in advancing the public's interest in good health, and an improved quality of life. Through my unique perspective and passion for making new discoveries, I believe I can bring fresh insight to a lab, a classroom, and an institution. I am ready to make a difference with my education.

- Analyzed statistically significant differences in gut microbiome composition by comparing the gut microbiomes of individuals with inflammatory bowel disease to those of healthy individuals.
- Co-authored the paper, "The Role of the Gut Microbiome in Inflammatory Bowel Disease," with mentor Mytien Nguyen from Yale University.
- The paper is currently under review for publication at Advanced Gut & Microbiome Research.
