I led and assisted a group of people to plan, construct, and operate complex sets and large scale props. I assisted in instances of rigging a suspension system to lift actors into the air while taking all necessary measures to make sure that the actors, fellow cast, and crew operating the rigging were safe. Before shows, I would make sure lighting and sound systems were functional and address any questions amongst my crew about how the show was going to go. I also had to use quick problems solving skills in moments when props were not in their proper place and I had to strategize with the director and cast to save the show from any accidents.
I worked as a Sous alongside Chef Debora in teaching children how to cook. Children where divided up into groups of six (6) and placed into our five (5) fully functional and furnished kitchens. Children were taught a mix of recipes, between lunch, snacks, dinner, and dessert, and children were encouraged to take these skills home to their families to show their progress. While I helped in every level, I specifically taught the baking and dessert portions. Working lessons of scientific chemical combinations and simple mathematics in fun ways while children learned how to wield sharp tools and hot ovens without inflicting any harm on themselves or others cooking alongside them. Teaching the children in group exercises near daily taught the kids how to work in teams and coordinate with each other to effectively prepare and plate meals while practicing food safety, cleanliness, knife safety, and fire safety.
Wellcare was a transitional housing environment for homeless addicts to reintroduce them into society as functional members. As Housing Staff, I would look after the men in my care, providing them with resources to find therapists, jobs, and housing when they came close to graduating the program. I would coordinate daily events to keep the clients active throughout each day, giving words of encouragement and motivation during early morning team meetings. I would organize chore groups to help clients learn how to care for themselves and the others living in the house alongside them. We would practice team building exercises, turning many of the clients in our care into a sort of family.
