Katharine (Katie) Evers

In my role as Associate Director of Planned Giving, I manage a personal portfolio of planned-giving donors and actively support the University’s comprehensive fundraising campaign. I collaborate closely with the Director of Planned Giving, academic leadership, and senior administrators to help shape fundraising priorities and strategies that advance key institutional goals. I partner with Advancement colleagues across schools and units to strengthen philanthropic engagement, steward leads generated through planned giving outreach, and build a robust donor pipeline. This role requires extensive relationship-building, strategic portfolio management, and consistent tracking of metrics and outcomes, as well as regional and national travel to meet with donors.

Transitioned from PBS Headquarters to the local PBS station in October of 2024 as a promotional opportunity. Managed a planned giving donor portfolio of major giving prospects and legacy society members. Stewarded members of the Elizabeth P. Campbell Legacy Society (700+ members) through the annual gift acknowledgement process. Project managed planned giving marketing efforts to tens of thousands of prospective WETA donors. Conducted substantive meetings with donors, prospective donors, and financial advisors. Assisted in planning and execution of Leadership Circle and Legacy Society events.

Lead project manager for the PBS Foundation Standard Operating Procedures and SharePoint conversion projects. Managed intake and closing processes for all planned gifts (totaling over $10M yearly) in probate and trust administration. Maintained a formal revenue recognition report that tracked the status of all open estates in preparation for the PBS annual audit. Maintained an independent portfolio of over 300 major donor prospects. Tracked the status of all gift distributions by communication with probate attorneys, donor families, and financial institutions.

Led the creation of the CRC’s extensive Standard Operating Procedures package (with over 500 documents). Project managed the team’s relocation from a temporary shelter into a 100,000 square foot facility. Extensively managed highly confidential information in Salesforce CRM, including court filings and documents associated with cruelty seizures. Conducted ongoing statistical reporting of casework, partnering with critical stakeholders to ensure timely preparation of annual compliance reporting. Oversaw onboarding of CRC vendors and ensured punctual bill payments within a $10M budget. Executed operational and administrative tasks for the Vice President, including confidential correspondence, scheduling responsibilities, and communication between internal and external stakeholders. Deployed 70+ times to animal cruelty, neglect, and disaster response in a variety of leadership roles. Chosen for the ASPCA DEI Staff Council and contributed robustly to the professional development subcommittee. Received the Fall/Winter 2021 ASPCA Angel Award.

Supported strategic relationship development with response partners and facilitated clear, effective communication throughout all phases of deployment. Designed and distributed targeted marketing materials, managed over 100 individual foster cases, and conducted in-depth research on animal sanctuaries nationwide. Led the creation of detailed animal profiles for nationwide distribution to shelter partners. Regularly deployed in leadership roles during numerous animal cruelty and neglect seizures, collaborating closely with interdepartmental teams under high-pressure conditions. Oversaw Resource Unit operations, including the activation and support of deployment partners to ensure seamless field execution.

Oversaw the strategic allocation of a $1 million communications budget, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and fiscal accountability. Provided high-level administrative and logistical support to five Executive Leadership Team members, including calendar coordination, travel planning, and expense reporting. Managed all aspects of board engagement, including meeting logistics, travel coordination, and board book development and distribution. Designed and launched patient engagement initiatives, including the PTI Cystic Fibrosis Patient Roundtable and Presentation Programs. Led sponsorship funding efforts for clinical trials, cultivating strong relationships with cystic fibrosis organizations and patient advocacy groups.
