Accomplishments

I accomplished my dream of finally becoming a CASA of Monterey. I wanted to become a CASA over a decade ago. Raising 4 kids, working a full-time job, and struggling with going to school kept me from my calling. I was intentional in finally pursing what I have wanted to do for a long time. I became a CASA in August 2024. I am still my kiddos CASA and even after he ages out, I will still be there for him. I would make sure that he does not go back to the streets and encourage him to pursue a positive purpose in his life. To pay it forward to another youth in the future who he can mentor from his own experiences. To always have hope and stay positive. To never give up on his dreams and aspirations.

Sailor of the Quarter & Sailor of the Year

I was chosen by the Navy Reserve Center CO, Commanding Officer for the Blue Jacket of the Quarter Sailor as well as Sailor of the Year for my hard work and dedication. Passing all my PRT's (Physical Readiness Training) PT test. I helped out a lot of incoming Sailors and I also assisted the ranks above me to provide my help in terms of data entry, setting up the gym for presentations, etc. The CO stated that I was a great leader and very supportive of the other Sailors. My mindset was always to get my work done and then help those who may need assistance. I motivated some fellow Sailors to get ready for the PRT (Physical Readiness Training, basically PT).
