· Initiates and performs initial screening and assessment including substance abuse assessment as needed - using evidenced based treatment screening tools and guidelines

· Performs diagnostic and psychosocial assessments, updates and risk assessments.

· Develops, reviews and updates treatment plans.

· Performs counseling/psychotherapy services (including individual, family and in a group setting).

· Provides education and supervision to students

· Provides ongoing crisis intervention for patients and when relevant, their families.

· Acts as an advocate for the patients and externship students

· Identifies legal and custody issues and acts to resolve conflicts that interfere with patient care.

activities. Promotes positive inter- and intra-departmental
