Hi! I am Kate Ellis. A senior at Claudia Taylor Johnson High School. I am in a range of activities but I find most value in my volunteer oriented one. I describe myself as academically driven, personable, and involved. I love to be busy and have passion for everything I do.
I am the team captain of a regional qualifying tennis team. I am ranked as the 4th seeded girls player and the number 1 seeded girls singles player within my team. We have two seasons. The fall, where we play team tennis in our competitive 6a district. And spring, that consists of tournaments across Texas.
As an officer of a student run organization I plan, coordinate, and oversee all service related events. As a community service chair I Facilitate and coordinate new service opportunities on campus and in conjunction with other campus organizations. Additionally I am responsible for hour opportunities for the members and am the main contact point for any of my high school's service opportunities
As a Pal we are assigned to four elementary students from different walks of life that we visit once a week. We also work hand in hand with our schools ALE program including Special Olympics. Additionally, PALS must achieve 15 hours of community service, not including hours gained from NHS or other volunteer programs.
I watch over a group of 10 to 15 kids ranging from ages 2 to 6 once a week while their parents attend church. I also participate in Foster Parent's day off where I watch the same age group for a day. Lastly on Tuesdays, I oversee kids while their parents attend meetings or bible study.
A mother daughter organization that is built on the foundation of charity. I participate in events that go back into my community such as philanthropy and events that shaped my life and values. For example, listening to speeches from a female FBI agent or talking to female business owners.
A week out of the summer devoting time to elementary school students. In this camp we guide a group of kids to different activities and supervise as they learn more about Jesus.
This program includes meetings that enhance our knowledge and love for science. We not only learn new facts but engage in hands- on experiences. It strives to be a science outlet for high achieving students and makes progress on science outreach within schools.
A team sport that requires mental and physical toughness. My team went on to be district champions in our level.
A camp based on good morals and hard work. I served as a waitress for 30 days aiding and clearing all 3 meals. I also held tryouts and composed teams for competitions, games, and matches. I also was a camper for the previous 9 years and participated in a range of activities such as a cooking class, riflery class, and a leadership period.
I participated as a member at large and participated in the decision of the homecoming theme and the set up of the dance. Furthermore I went to each meeting and injected ideas on how to improve our school and offered ideas on how to help the community.
