• Support students new to the country and to English in gaining access to English as well as classroom content.
• Support teachers who work in mainstream classrooms which includes students that are new to the country and new to English.
• Provide students with English language development coursework to build their knowledge of English needed to succeed in school.
• Support EL teachers who worked in grades 1 - 4. For example, provide coaching about ELD classes and guided reading.
• Oversee administration of ACCESS for ELs assessment each year from 2022 - present. Monitor data and success plans of EL students.
• Facilitate professional learning opportunities for all teachers around topics for English learners and for all teachers around the topic of developing literacy skills.

• Taught third grade content to mainstream students and English learners - including those that were new to the country and new to English.

• Provided training for K - grade 2 literacy coordinators in the US, Canada, and Bermuda. Training included

- research-based practices for supporting students in building a reading and a writing process: interactive read aloud, shared reading, guided reading, managed independent learning, conferring, phonics and word study, interactive writing, writing workshop

- professional learning about working with adult learners and providing coaching for teachers around supporting readers and writers

- on-site coaching of teachers working with readers and writers and working with adult learners

• Provided professional learning for teachers on Leveled Literacy Intervention, Fountas and Pinnell Benchmark Assessment System, and Guided Reading

• Literacy Coordinator - Taught reading and writing in first grade and provided professional learning opportunities and coaching for teachers in kindergarten - second grade
