Engage students in developmentally appropriate and hands-on learning experiences
• Engage with students during play, meals, and snacks.
• Assist center in implementing Continuity of Relationships model, which may include staying
with one group of students for up to three years.
• Meeting and maintaining DCFS, Excelerate, and all other applicable standards in the center
• Responsible for maintaining up-to-date student records (i.e. Journey binders)
• Manage day-to-day routines and tasks, such as: bathroom breaks, serving meals (breakfast, lunch
and snacks), assist in tooth brushing, cleaning of classroom and materials, supervise outdoor play
and nap/rest time
• Write lesson plans, and implement activities in the areas of: literacy, language and math, social emotional development, physical development, science and social studies (using Creative
Curriculum)
o Lesson plans reflect and recognize individual differences within development
• Write observations of children and assess students on an ongoing basis using Teaching Strategies
