  • Develops and executes products and services for social-change and policy-influencing organizations to enhance their work with solutions journalism stories.
  • Researches, identifies, cultivates and nurtures relationships with these organizations so that they are exposing their audiences to solutions journalism both in support of their social-change and policy-influencing missions, and to educate their audiences about solutions journalism.
  • In collaboration with the VP for Knowledge Dissemination, creates, evaluates and updates products and services that enhance SJN's capacity for exposing significant numbers of individuals, both directly and through mission-driven organizations, to solutions journalism.

  • Creates and maintains relevant material on SJN's website related to mission-driven and policy-focused organizations in a manner that seeks to increase transparency internally and externally, and encourage engagement with potential partners and across the organization.

  • Motivated and engaged students in understanding global planetary challenges and developing and implementing solutions, including creating campus and community sustainability projects, and developing business plans for social enterprises.
  • Tripled course enrollment in first year teaching study abroad course on sustainable business practices in Sweden and Denmark, and launched service-learning course to Rwanda.
  • Collaborated with departmental colleagues to design the environmental studies business concentration curriculum, and taught the Green Business foundational course. After one year, enrollment in business concentration increased by 250 percent.
  • Taught environmental design studios on sustainable agriculture, public greenways and water conservation that culminated in community or campus projects. Projects included a campus farm to fork program, working with the local and conservancy and city council to launch the Redlands' Emerald Necklace, and a water conservation competition for students living on campus.

Launched citizen-led sustainability network to implement the city of Redlands Community Sustainability Plan. Planned, publicized and hosted Network's inaugural event, designed and maintained webpage and started blog.

Teaches trauma-informed yoga to youth and adults in prison, drug and alcohol recovery programs and in community transitional services, and provides free yoga to hospice care workers.
