  • Built HAB modeling data pipelines for quotes, sales, and renewals using GCP BQ/Python. These 3 datasets support all of the model builds that underpin LTV calculations (demand, risk modeling, survival analysis). Model build underway.
  • McDonald's pricing algorithm lead: oversaw new property/liability GLMs, excess loss models, and full impact analysis. Partnered with other Data Scientists new to Actuarial Science.
  • Carpe vendor data review: used unsupervised outlier detection models and non-linear supervised models to see if pre-fill/automation would improve accuracy of agent entered classification.
  • Reviewed Commercial Auto loss cost models for potential interactions in Florida (contracts, driver score); created a scoring pipeline in Radar to review model fits on all coverages (previously models only reviewed in isolation).

  • Wrote Fair Pricing and Pricing Governance policies, bringing rigor and transparency to pricing practices. Additionally, led strategy efforts for how pricing algorithms would comply with new FCA Dual Pricing regulations.
  • Led pricing revolution toward full price optimization for multiple products for both online and offline channels. Trained new team of analysts to build a variety of propensity, frequency, and severity models to estimate customer behavior and transaction magnitudes using Emblem/Radar Base/Python.

  • Led small team of actuaries & analysts to create industry-leading, innovative rating plans for new suite of habitational products. ~$300M premium across 19 operating states.
  • Constructed a modeling dataset in SAS EG after researching various internal and vendor databases and creating metadata documentation. Dataset used for this project and others across the enterprise (e.g. Homesite, Data Science dept.).
  • Oversaw the build of: risk models by coverage/peril in Emblem; establishment of territorial boundaries using principal component analysis on geo-demographic variables and spatial smoothings; impact analyses of changing to new product pricing which included consideration of competitor pricing.

  • Developed a property survey predictive model in Emblem to prioritize survey orders, and incorporated improvements to sewer/water back-up pricing based on predictive model outputs.
  • Collaborated with business partners in Product Management, Marketing, Claims, IT, and Sales on specific state strategies, including topics such as premium trend drivers, use of demand/retention models and Earnix software, and consulting on impacts of various discount changes.
