  • Serve as the charge nurse on the care unit in a rehabilitation center featuring respiratory care and long-term care services, coordinating daily resident care and supporting overall unit operations.

  • Monitor residents with psychiatric and behavioral health needs for changes in mood, attitude, behavior, and response to medications, and report significant concerns to the supervisor and interdisciplinary team.
  • Respond to aggressive or potentially harmful behaviors by prioritizing the safety of residents and staff, using de-escalation approaches, and separating the resident from others when necessary.
  • Complete initial and ongoing nursing assessments and promptly report significant changes in residents’ physical, cognitive, respiratory, or emotional status to the appropriate team members.
  • Manage IV therapy and IV pumps according to physician orders and facility protocol.
  • Recognize changes in resident condition, communicate concerns directly to the physician, and coordinate blood draws and laboratory testing as ordered.
  • Monitor enteral feeding and resident tolerance to tube feeding, and report complications or changes in condition promptly.
