Led project to build convolutional and recurrent neural network models of the brain and evaluate them based on similarity to brain activity. Independently preprocessed neural recordings, modeled experimental neuroscience tasks, and wrote up neural network training/analysis pipeline. Trained thousands of models and analyze dynamics.
Led a team of 2 undergraduate research assistants, each for 10 hours/week. I taught them not only how to execute tasks, but also evaluate data to plan next directions and relate findings to literature.
Wrote first-author submission to Cosyne 2024.

Processed and analyzed 2-photon mesoscope neuron recordings from awake mice performing a visual task. Identified orientation tunings and inter-trial features across the visual cortex, with the goal of distinguishing between patterns that propagate information within and between neuron populations.
Independently initiated and designed proposal to image neuron recovery from ischemic vs hemorrhagic strokes in mice. Prepared perfusion and photothrombosis procedures with goal of inducing strokes.
Awarded $1,500 SRC URP stipend to fund my research.
