Volunteer Experience

  • Hurricane Harvey- I was given the opportunity to provide medical assistance during Hurricane Harvey. I was able to travel with the red cross for 10 days and utilize my skills in a ground zero environment. I was able to provide care to individuals both in shelters and after emergent rescues. This was a very humbling experience, and I was fortunate enough to have this opportunity as it gave me an additional perspective into nursing.
  • Blue Ridge CTC Educator- I guest lectured about my nursing experiences every semester for 2 years at my Alumni College. I served as a tutor for students in groups and individuals. I enjoy educating and serving as a mentor for students. Encouraging and assisting students has been a passion of mine and I also look for opportunities to share my knowledge with those wanting to learn.
