  • Manage 73 department schedules hospital-wide.
  • Review, balance, and post all schedules every month.
  • Work closely with Corporate to help implement new programs in order to streamline schedules and staffing.
  • Provide classes quarterly for all Directors, Managers, and CNCs to provide education on the scheduling system.
  • Round on all of the departments and provide 1:1 education as needed.
  • In-house expert on the Facility Scheduler and troubleshoot all issues departments may have with the system.
  • Grant access to employees in order to use Facility Scheduler.
  • Build departments, add staff to Scheduler, alter current access, build shift codes, and enter open needs.
  • Manage all Agency staff who come in for orientation.
  • Complete schedules for Care Pool staff (Division Float Pool).


Staffing Coordinator

  • Answer phones, add staff to Scheduler, and work closely with Staffing AOC and House Supervisor in managing staffing throughout the day.
  • Redeploy staff during the day as needed.
  • Complete payroll for 5 different departments daily.
  • Create Shortage spreadsheets 4 weeks in advance in order to prepare for short staffing days ahead of time.
  • Create the staffing plan for the next shift, call all CNCs for Med/Surg, Step Down, ICU, and Mom and Baby units and implement staffing plan.
  • Create Matrix with finalized staffing prior to shift change and redeploy all float pool staff and Patient Safety Attendants.
  • Manage patient sitter and camera logs and update them prior to shift change.
  • Provide copies of Matrix and Sitter/Camera logs for House Supervisor, Centralized Patient Placement, and next Staffing Coordinator coming on shift.

Accomplishments

Built the Facility Scheduler Administrator role from the ground up 4 years ago. I was able to implement new processes into the role in order to streamline the needs of the hospital in regards to their schedules and immediately give Administration the extra assistance they need on a daily basis.
