Resilient Special Education Teacher familiar with challenges associated with teaching special needs children. Remains positive under times of stress or conflict. Works well with classroom teachers to develop accommodations and special techniques for mainstream classroom inclusion. Interested in researching ways for students to remain in the mainstream classroom with peers. I work hard to find answers to teach students and teachers the best way to keep students from falling behind.

I have been in education long enough to see the importance of catching students early. Early interventions can help a students in every aspect of their life. Something as simple as sitting with a student can allow us to see where the struggle is and find a way to help the student change the way they learn.

Assessed levels in Reading, Math and Social skills to help students increase their ability to learn at their own pace.

Put together classroom work based on students individual placement in order to help them move to the next level.

Developed and created behavior plans with material for students based on student needs.

Wrote and monitored students progress and made changes as needed.

Communicated with parents on a regular basis.

The position for Academic Intervention is what I have been working towards the last 15 years and feel that I can make a great deal of difference. I work very hard for my students to find what works for them no matter how many plans or programs I need to use to make things work for them to learn.
