• Screen patients' health status to determine level of visit needed for surgery clearance
• Screen medications patient currently on and inform / instruct on medications to hold or take with rationale for doing so
• Monitored pre-testing labs (EKG, urine, consults) and informed anesthesia/surgeon of any abnormal findings
• Notified patients of diet status and surgery restrictions, including duration of restrictions
• Informed patients of required driver, bathing, and clothing needs before surgery.

• Care for post surgical patient, assessing all aspects of status monitoring for any abnormal findings, reporting to anesthesia/ surgeon as necessary
• Prepared documentation for discharge process instructing patient and family of information needed to adequately care for patient after D/C
• Follow up with phone call to assess if able to manage care for patient appropriately or need to contact physician prior to scheduled post op visit
