
I am strong, dependable, adaptable and resilient experienced nurse with 44 years of experience who is currently a full-time staff nurse at Hope Hospice Cape Coral inpatient unit. My last position with Lee Memorial is in the Out Patient Infusion and Interim Care Center where we infuse medications, antibiotics and hydration. We were also the Coumadin Clinic and have a wound care clinic as well. We were responsible for initiation and care of peripheral IV sites, use and maintenance of PICC lines and Mediports, venipuncture and skilled wound care. These were all done in our clinic.
Previous position was on a med-surg/telemetry unit. Provide medical care to patients with a variety of needs requiring hospitalization. Monitor patients with various conditions and assess for any decline or improvement in their condition and act accordingly. Carry out the orders of the providers reporting to them as needed, while being an advocate for my patients. Monitor them prior to procedures and surgeries and after.
Serve as a preceptor for new hire nurses and a mentor for less experienced ones.
I have been a Superuser for change over to EPIC Electronic Record and now I'm also trained in the new Job Instruction Program.
I was then a CMSRN so that I was better qualified for jobs that will be new challenge for me.
