As a first-generation student, my education has never been just about a degree, it’s about changing the trajectory of my family. I had my first child in highschool, and was a single teen mom, which ultimately was a struggle at first, but with materity, experience and support I have been able to change our lives. I’ve maintained a 3.68 GPA and a 30 Wonderlic score not because it was easy, but because I’m showing my six children what’s possible. For over five years, I’ve balanced the complexities of professional IHSS caregiving with the demands of a large household, consistently earning President’s List honors. I am pursuing Keiser’s 16-month Fast Track program because I have the grit to handle the pressure and the heart to advocate for the smallest patients in the NICU. I’m not just looking for a career; I’m building a foundation of stability for my family and proving to my children that they belong in college, too.
