A highly motivated and community-driven law enforcement professional with over 21 years of experience serving in the Old Tappan Police Department, I am deeply passionate about both public service and education. Throughout my career, I have not only enforced the law but also dedicated myself to fostering positive relationships between law enforcement and the community through active involvement in community policing initiatives, youth mentoring, and educational outreach. My work in the department has involved teaching and developing programs such as the L.E.A.D. and the Old Tappan Junior Police Academy, where I guided the next generation of officers and engaged with local youth to encourage positive behaviors and relationships with law enforcement. With a Master’s Degree and Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, I combine practical law enforcement experience with a solid academic foundation. I have a long-standing commitment to education, having developed curriculum, coordinated events, and taught lessons in law enforcement, ethics, and safety for various age groups. My experience working with students and community members has not only strengthened my teaching skills but also instilled in me a passion for shaping the future of criminal justice education. As a professor, I aim to bring real-world perspectives to the classroom, integrating my extensive field experience into academic instruction. I am particularly committed to preparing students for careers in law enforcement by emphasizing the importance of community relations, ethical decision-making, and leadership within the criminal justice system. My dedication to serving my community, both as a police officer and as a volunteer, equips me to foster a learning environment that encourages student growth, civic engagement, and academic excellence.
