I have visited England, Paris France, Italy and many places in the US and the Caribbean. There are so many more European places, I'd like to visit, given the chance. Europe holds so much history and the architecture is astonishing. I would say, I do like history. It can tell us a lot about our past and possibly our future. I like discovering little historical towns throughout the state and outside the state, if I have the time to venture off for a few days.
Hiking has always been a pastime favorite of mine, since i was a small child. I would go into the woods, find wild herbs like ginger, snap it into, to smell the fragrance, and mosey onto the next one. Pulling the stem from a honeysuckle bloom just to get that drop of sweet nectar, was heaven. After meandering from one bush to another I'd find an old wagon trail, follow it and discover many things along the way. I'd come across an old, abandoned tenant house that still contained some of its inhabitants' belongings, old dilapidated tobacco barns and so forth. That's when I found the fascination of hiking. I still find things, old homestead's lone fireplaces standing erect, creeks filled with fool's gold, tracks of some unknown animal/species, quarry's, etc. I'm an explorer by nature, I guess. All along, I've introduced these things to my children and they have incorporated them into their lives and have been able to share those things with others. Plus, it's great exercise, without realizing it, beauty everywhere you look and a bit of education and wonder about it all. I've spent most of my adulthood as a single mother and between working to support us all, holidays, weekends and short beach vacations were very much looked forward to. I made the holidays fun, cooking big meals, experimental baking[which was quite funny}, handmade decorations, and all the magic that went with each holiday, especially Christmas. I took my children to church, help them to realize there's an entity far more powerful and greater than the human race and to keep faith that no matter what, it was for the good of all mankind and they could always know, they would be okay. Taught them to be grateful for everything and not to complain about anything. To be content and have joy. They have all turned out to be exceptional people. As for my dogs, Gatsby and Daisy, [The Great Gatsby], yes, I'm a hopeless romantic, and a victim of unrequited love myself. Nevertheless, they are my source of entertainment and companionship. They've given me, my 4 kids and my granddaughter, joy in watching them bring 3 litters of pups in our lives. Another educational time, in watching nature, nurture and care for their young. Also, to make others happy when we were able to provide them with a new family member. Smiles and love overload! That's the end of a semi-autobiography. I hope you've enjoyed reading it and thank you for taking the time in getting to know a little bit about who I am. I also hope you take me into consideration for the position.
