Katie Barger

I will be a fourth-semester nursing student at Carson-Newman University this Fall 2026. I am a Christian, and my goal is to follow my faith as a RN in this region after graduation. I am an active member of the Student Nursing Association and will be serving as the Best Buddies President. I complete work study at the Carson-Newman Eagle Shop and am a member of Tri-Alpha Honor Society. I am looking to gain more experience in the field and hope to assist your team!

Patient Care Assistant

I will be the President of Best Buddies for the 2026-2027 year. Best Buddies is a program dedicated to matching individuals with special needs with college students that fosters a growing friendship. This upcoming annual year will be my fourth year in Best Buddies with my same buddy. I served as the 2025-2026 Student Nursing Association (SNA) secretary. This spring semester, I participated in a nursing simulation training day for high school students where they practiced CPR. This summer, I am registered to volunteer in Carson-Newman's annual nursing camp for high school juniors and seniors where we will teach several nursing skills and simulations throughout the week. I have been working at the Carson-Newman Eagle Shop since August 2023. I joined Tri-Alpha April 2025. I have completed 100+ volunteer hours for the Smokey Mountain Athletic Association (SMAA) which is a summer baseball league where I have assisted in coach meetings, field maintenance, and concessions.  Lastly, I am a member of Rock Quarry Fellowship Church in Greeneville TN.
