Worked as a contracted Respiratory therapist, performing a variety of respiratory therapy techniques. Attended rapid response teams to aid patients that were having acute condition changes. Managed mechanical ventilation patients in all three of their ICU’s (Cardiovascular, Surgical, and Medical). Covered general telemetry floors for aerosol treatments as well as cpap, bipap, high flow oxygen needs. Assisted in emergency room if multiple critical patients needed respiratory assistance.
Worked as a contracted Respiratory therapist, performing a variety of respiratory therapy techniques. Managed long term tracheostomy patients on mechanical ventilation. Weaned tracheostomy patients off mechanical ventilation by performing wean trials from ventilatory support to aerosol trach collars, to downsizing tracheostomy, and adding speaking valves/ capping. Performed trach care as well as suctioning using sterile technique to ensure airway clear and reducing risk of infection. Administered aerosol treatments, Chest physiotherapy, and managed bipap/ cpap patients as well.
Started Respiratory career at St Joseph Hospital in Warren, OH from July 2012 to January 2017. Performed endotracheal intubations, covered the MICU managing ventilator patients, attended delivery and c-sections in labor and delivery to perform respiratory support if needed, as well as covered the Emergency room performing blood gases/ intubations/ transport of patients on mechanical ventilation, took care of patients on the Pediatric floor providing aerosol treatments and any respiratory needs they may have had as well as telemetry and non-monitored floors in the hospital. January 2017 transferred to Boardman, OH St.Elizabeth hospital as it was closer to home. Performing all the same needs at a similar sized hospital. In November 2019, transfer to Mercy Home Medical Equipment within the same company located in Youngstown, OH. There tasks included setting up and educating patient and families on home oxygen usage; home mechanical ventilation usage and indications as well as troubleshooting; Setting up and education on tracheostomy care and equipment; setting up and education on nebulizer treatments; setting up and education on sleep apnea and use of bipap/ cpap.
