I am a motivated nursing student with over two years of healthcare experience as a Patient Care Technician and current Nurse Extern at Bryan Medical Center. My time working at the bedside has helped me build a strong foundation in patient-centered care, teamwork, communication, and clinical judgment while learning from the nurses and healthcare professionals around me. These experiences have taught me not only technical nursing skills, but also the importance of time management, confidence, leadership, and providing compassionate care during some of the most important moments in patients' lives.
Through nursing school, clinical rotations, and shadowing experiences in different specialties, I have seen the impact nurses make beyond the care they provide. These opportunities have continued to strengthen my passion for nursing and have shaped the type of nurse I hope to become: someone who is dependable, eager to learn, and committed to providing the best care possible for my patients and their families.
My time at Bryan has given me a deeper understanding of what it means to “Care Like Crazy” and “Know the Way, Show the Way.” I have had the opportunity to learn from nurses who have not only strengthened my clinical skills, but have also shown me the importance of compassion, teamwork, and being someone patients and coworkers can depend on. The experiences and lessons I have gained at Bryan have shaped the nurse I hope to become, and I look forward to continuing to grow while providing the same level of care and support that first inspired me.
This experience has strengthened my confidence as an individual in my nursing skills and allowed me to learn the soft skills of nursing that cannot be taught during nursing school. Not only have my abilities to insert an IV increased but I feel I have learned what time management looks like when caring for up to 5 patients. This experience has made me feel much more comfortable with difficult situations and prepared me how to be a reliable nurse alongside some of the smartest nurses I have met!
I served as the Panhellenic Delegate president for my sorority, Alpha Chi Omega at UNL during the 2025 term!
