I was working at the time, but I had a friend who was not really trusting with daycare's around the area, and I offered my assistance. The friend I worked for also had her sixty-five-year-old grandmother living with her and needed assistance for her as well. I told her I have my experience with growing up taking care of my four siblings and my grandmother. I made sure the five-year-old daughter and two-year-old daughter were fed and dressed. After I helped the seven-year-old son get ready for school and packed lunch, I made sure the girls played outside, and then returned inside to work on some learning activities. I would arrive at the house at four. morning and not leave until seven at night.

• Prepared breakfast, lunch, and occasionally dinner. I made sure the little ones were up and ready to start their day. I went around six in the morning to start my day by taking care of them. I was a nanny when the first daughter was 4 years old, and the second daughter since she was brought home from the hospital. I always made sure they took naps, were fed, and homework was done when she came home from school. I would treat her to a fun night of roller skating every day the roller skating rink was open, for a nice treat. I normally would arrive at six in the morning and would be at the house with the girls until five at night, or I would stay later and we would have a movie night.
