Work closely with the endocrinologists to both monitor and treat diabetes and other endocrine and metabolic diseases, including thyroid diseases, osteoporosis, pituitary and adrenal gland disorders.

Provide acute, chronic and preventative medical care to a broad and diverse population.

• Record comprehensive medical histories and document in EMR.
• Order, conduct, and interpret lab tests, screening studies, and other diagnostic procedures.
• Formulate differential diagnoses based on medical history, clinical exam and lab studies.

• Retention/Recruitment Coordinator, Nursing Workforce Diversity Program.
• Involved in coordinating various retention and recruitment activities within the Nursing Workforce Diversity Scholarship Program, including a peer mentoring program and group tutoring.
  
• Responsibilities include providing academic advisement to undergraduate students, increasing access to volunteer opportunities, and enhancement of their professional development.

• Expertise ranges from the care of stable, post-cardiac catheterization patients to those with chronic conditions, such as heart failure, who require greater support. Previously worked 2 years in the hospital’s Level 1 trauma center.
• Gained entry into critical care nursing via the Critical Care Internship (Christiana Care Health System), which provided a 6-month orientation focused on the care of high acuity patients.
  

• Independently developed care plans for Medicaid Waiver clients based on a yearly assessment and medical profile.

• Educated clients about their health, which included addressing noncompliance and poor lifestyle choices.  

• Assisted the Director of Client Services with training and overseeing case managers new to the agency.               
  

• Provided private-duty nursing care to an elderly patient with terminal lung cancer.
