• Cared for acute pediatric hematology/oncology and medical/surgical patients on a 22 bed unit with up to a 1:5 nurse ratio with occasional floating.
• Administered chemotherapy protocols, pain medications, blood/platelet products and other medicines based on physician orders and patient requirements.
• Helped patients feel comfortable and supported during treatments for different types of cancer and patiently answered diverse questions, including end of life care
• Connected with patients and families from variety of cultural and economic backgrounds to establish and maintain open communication for improved patient outcomes.
