This position is a medical-surgical cardiac unit that I have worked/work both day shift & night shift on & currently still work on.

• Experience with 6:1 ratios.
• Experience as charge nurse.
• Clinical coordinator (1-2 years).
• EHR experience with EPIC and Cerner.
• Identifying & interpreting telemetry strips.
• Experience with caring for patient prior to heart catheterizations, pacemaker implantation, AV node ablations, & CABG.
• Experience recovering heart catheterizations with and without intervention, pacemaker implantation & ICDs, AV node ablations, & Watchman's.
• Experience with caring for patients with congestive heart failure, atrial fibrillation/flutter, cardiomyopathy, other common medical diagnosis.
• Experience in floating and working on many other floors such as an observation unit, step-down unit, respiratory unit, ortho unit, and even became familiar with the emergency department by helping out with tasking when extra staff were needed in the past.

This was a PRN position in which I was employed for almost 4 years working on a coronary care unit and picked up mostly night shift. Level of care here was equivalent to a step-down unit; care consistent of all different levels of care of patient's up to intubation. Some experience/skills included:

• Head-toe assessments, including neuro, NIH, & CIWA assessments.
• Identifying the different heart rhythms & interpreting the strips.
• Administering medications and treatments in accordance with established protocols.
• Managing/titrating drips including anti-arrhythmics, pressors, nitro & precedex.
• Prepping and recovering heart catheterizations & pacemaker implantation patients.
• Utilizing critical thinking skills to prioritize nursing interventions based on patients'' acuity levels and individual needs.

During this time, I took a few travel assignments and gained some experience in some great resourceful hospitals. I worked on a neuro unit at Cleveland Clinic, an ortho unit at Mount Carmel East, & also did contracts at all the central Ohio hospitals with Ohio Health on their medical surgical units. Experience/care includes:

• Assessments
• Medication administration
• Groups of patients up to 7:1 ratios
• Managing and monitoring acute stroke patients.
• Continuous EEG monitoring with frequent neuro assessments.
• Monitoring and managing chest pain and NSTEMI patients including: obtaining EKGs, initiating and managing heparin drips, administering nitroglycerin, and prepping for stress tests or heart catheterizations.
• Assisting fresh ortho/surgical patients with postoperative care and work with care manager on plan for rehab/disposition.

• This role was a small branch of management, along with continuing to work the inpatient unit as the charge nurse.
• The position involved working closely with the unit manager and give other coordinators.
• Provided informal counselings to staff on the unit and yearly evaluations.
• Reviewed the daily dash board and provided updates to staff on what still needed completed documentation wise.
• Attended meetings throughout the year and assisted with ways to improve quality of care.
