Veterans Choice Program - The Veterans Access, Choice, Accountability Act (VACCA) is a law that expands the number of options veterans have for receiving care to ensure veterans have timely access to high quality care outside of their VA.
• Answer in-bound calls helping veterans understand the status of what their authorization is in, helping veterans understand the Veterans Choice Program and de-escalate upset veterans who have been waiting a long period of time for appointments.
• Create authorizations, set up appointments for veterans, ensure the provider has all the required documents, verify the veteran attended their appointment and update the authorization.
• Handle confidential records.
• Administrative duties including data entry and filing.
• Avoid HIPAA violations, work through a system called Care Radius and dealt with some medical coding. ICD-10 codes.
