- I started the Fire Department when I was around 16 years of age. I was a Junior Firefighter that helped on active 911 calls on and off scene, cleaning, getting patients or families information, computer proficiency, and communication with fellow first responders. Later I got promoted to Junior Lieutenant which increased my job responsibilities to include education and team training for Junior Firefighters. As Junior Firefighter I executed essential firefighting duties, supported senior firefighters, and participated in safety drills. Demonstrated quick decision-making and effective teamwork.
