Fourth Grade

Completed my student teaching experience at Hanaford Elementary School in East Greenwich RI. Throughout the semester I had experience in teaching a class of 23 students lessons in all of the subject areas, including 6 weeks of full classroom takeover, two of those weeks being during the distance learning transition. I worked alongside my cooperating teacher to create and implement digital learning, creating digital learning plans as well as leading the class in video lesson plans.

Taught an interactive and in depth math unit for a fourth grade class over the course of 10 weeks. Covered topics relating to multiplication, fractions, unit fractions, prime and composite numbers, etc.) Spent time practicing behavior management, classroom control, and mathematical instruction.

Taught a social studies unit to a diverse third grade classroom over the fall semester. Students explored the topic of communities, learning about community characteristics, community workers, location, and communities in Rhode Island.

Observed and instructed in a diverse fifth grade classroom over the course of a semester. Taught multiple interactive and hands-on science units using the Foss textbook for science education. Educated students on life sciences including ecosystems, food chains, the respiratory and digestive systems of animals, plant life, and the life cycle of multiple animals and insects.
