At this job I work as a driver unloading brand new cars from Train Rail Cars that were then parked and shipped out to dealerships. At this job I would have to watch my speed, be cautious of my surroundings because of the many different companies that worked on the yard that were driving around as well. I had to be cautious of Truck Drivers and inspectors who would ride around on golf carts. I would drop down and carry around bridge plates that we used to go from rail car to rail car. These plates weighed about 55 pounds. I would also operate the ramp that we used to unload the cars with.
At this job I worked as an industrial window glazer carrying around and transporting glass to different construction sites. I’d help install windows, carry glass up to 300 pounds. I’d assist Journeyman with carrying around tools, glass, work supplies and work equipment.I also helped with demolition work when we would tare down old buildings and repair the buildings with new frames and windows. While working this job I worked 5 days a week for 10 hours each day. I Maintained a clean and organized workspace, promoting safety and productivity among team members. We Completed glazing projects within deadlines by managing time effectively and prioritizing tasks. I also reduced waste and material costs by implementing a system for recycling excess glass materials.
At this job I would drive around a ramp that was used to unload cars transported by rail cars. I would drive the ramp 5-8 times a day depending on how many other ramp drivers were available.
