Hello, my name is Kayton Stanton, and I am a second-year student at American University's Department of Health Studies and an aspiring public health researcher. Through my experience as a summer camp counselor and as a leadership counsel member, I have developed a strong sense of leadership, communication, and teamwork skills. During my time at these positions, I assisted in creating various team building and child entertainment activities for our young campers along with teaching valuable skills such as communication and collaboration. These activities include camper murals with everyone's participation, cooking and baking classes, imagination building challenges, one which included my campers being divided into teams, given pipe-cleaners, and tasked with collaborating to build the “tallest building they can imagine.” These roles have helped shape my views on the importance of responsibility and adaptability along with passion for helping others. From these experiences, I have learned that I bring a strong work ethic and commitment to assisting and making a positive impact on my community.
