  • Responsible for conducting activities to support surveillance for enteric conditions with priority for Salmonellosis, Shiga toxin-producing E. coli (STEC), Listeriosis, Giardiasis, Campylobacter, Yersiniosis, and other enteric conditions.
  • Monitoring for reports of these conditions, administering telephone interviews according to protocol for all diagnosed cases, and analyzing data to identify clusters.
  • Conducting additional and follow-up investigations that are prompted by detection of local clusters or outbreaks and multistate outbreaks.
  • Gathering demographic data for CDC reporting.
    Conducting specimen collection and transport to the Bureau of Laboratories. Providing cluster analysis based on results of whole genome sequencing.
