In February 2022 I transferred to the Medford fire department and was assigned to Ladder 2. The difference between the two departments although they both touch, was truly night and day. From ladder 2, I was then assigned to Ladder1 (Tiller) after completing the necessary training to drive both the front and rear of that fire apparatus. I responded to many fires both in the city and out of the city. I had the opportunity to work alongside some of the best leadership, that pushed and expected the most from everyone on that apparatus. I was an incredible experience. From there I went to Engine 4 which I am currently the driver and pump operator. Engine 4 has a high call volume and tends to go out of the city for fires more than the other apparatus. I enjoy the variety of calls.
Upon my honorable discharged from the United States Army in 2015, there was a conditional offer for the position at the Arlington Fire department as a full-time firefighter/ EMT-B pending academy completion. Once I successfully completed, I was then assigned to Engine 1, before being assigned fully assigned to the Rescue / Engine 2 for which I stayed for the remainder of my time at Arlington Fire. While on both Engine 2 and the Rescue, I went to fires both in town and out of town. From that, the knowledge and experience I gained shaped me as the firefighter I am today. I worked alongside some of the best in the business. I'm truly grateful for the time I spent in Arlington.
I joined the United States Army (Active Duty) late December 2013. My Basic training was held in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. From there, I graduated and was sent to specialized training in my field of vertical & horizontal Engineering. That took place on Sheppard Airforce Base in Texas. Upon completing my training, I was then given my duty station at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii. While there we worked along side the Marine Corps Engineers and built some fascinating projects. My time spent along side the men and women was unforgettable.
