My tasks here at Kinder Morgan include but are not limited to-
- Operating a dozer and pushing coke at a safe and efficient manner, whether for train loading or pile management.
- Operate the Loading booth effectively by manning the controls for chute movement and gate controls, as well as the paperwork such as the Event Log, Pre-use inspections, Dual Verification for doors and numbers of each car, bag-house check-sheet. coordinating and communicating with the dozer operators and Locomotive operator.
- Operating locomotives and inspecting them when they arrive. troubleshooting when problems occur. communicating with booth operator and other locomotives on the tracks, such as 07 or SGS and working with them to maximize safety and minimize chances of incidents or slowdowns. I also am familiar with the rail switches and flip them regularly for normal operations.
- Operating the overhead bucket crane, which includes pre-use inspection, Crane Log, troubleshooting normal issues and communicating them with the necessary people. normal crane operations involve digging coke out of the pit and placing on the pad for drying or cooling off, as well as moving coke from the pad to the crusher and log keeping. I also communicate clearly and professionally with P66 when needed. Other tasks related to the job are pinning the crane after each shift, and greasing the clamshell bucket.
- Filling in for the crew lead when necessary, which involves sending emails, coordinating job tasks with crew members, ensuring work is done safely and to the best of everyone's ability. communicating with upper-management about any issues or events and writing permits for contractors. participating and Leading in LO/TOs. releasing trains, and ensuring to using MBWA. Also making sure all paperwork is turned in and filled out properly and signed.
- Operating the Front-End Loader safely and efficiently for loading trucks as well as printing tickets from the scale house.
- Operating skid-steer for clean-ups or up-keep around the Terminal.
- Assisting in cable changes on the crane using hand tools, power tools, and equipment such as Man-lift/Tele-handler.
- Moving pallets or any scrap or trash with Tele-handler, skid-steer, or warehouse forklift.
- Changing rollers on conveyors which involves, locking out the system, using hand tools and occasionally equipment such as Tele-handler or man-lift to assist with taking the weight off the roller or providing easier access to the roller. Also includes filling out paperwork such as repair orders.
- One of my most important tasks is the task i do before i do any work, filling out JHA's and making sure all involved crew members have read and signed it so we can complete the job safely.
- Taught new employees machine operation techniques and how to inspect each piece of equipment or conveyor as well as fill out the paperwork involved.
