  • For the primary end of the steel mill I am the electrical person on shift
  • I often use Allen Bradley software to troubleshoot problems as well as to modify logic to keep production running until time permits for repairs
  • Also I have extensive knowledge in AC and DC cranes
  • In my job I have the responsibility to keep our cranes operating
  • These cranes are fed by a 480 volt AC hot rail, then converted to D.C
  • By a rectifier bank
  • I also open and close the distribution power feeding our LMF and EAF with 34,500 volts
  • At times, I assist three mechanical technicians two are in our melt shop and one is at our caster
  • Trouble shooting our water cooling system for our furnace's, caster, vacuum tank degasser, and LMF is also part of my duties
  • This includes 4-20ma devices that is analog feed back converted to digital for operators on our HMI's for flow and temperature
  • Repairing LVDTs, proportional valves, and other control and feedback devices (used in hydraulic controls) are a part of my extensive knowledge and job skills
  • So in our operation I use my extensive electrical knowledge, print reading, ability to read ladder, and understanding of PLC's
  • This allows for our ability to keep a safe and productive work environment.
