Senior Associate – Land Development Planner/Landscape Architect

Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc.
05.1985 - 07.2019
  • Company Overview: Kimley-Horn, a national multi-disciplinary design consulting firm
  • Registered Landscape Architect and Land Planner
  • Began my career at the firm two years out of college as an entry level professional, and gradually grew into a practice building role where I participated on design teams and was responsible for marketing, proposal writing, contract administration, design, entitlements, and essentially all aspects of our land development consulting practice
  • Working closely with architects, engineers, environmental consultants, interior designers, finance specialists and construction companies, I gained an in-depth understanding of the land development process
  • I was fortunate to spend time in Texas, Florida and California offices which provided me with exposure not only to a geographic diversity of projects and clients, but also to many extremely talented professionals, both internally at Kimley-Horn and externally with a wide variety of clients, designers and team members
  • Land development projects ranged from residential, hotel, and commercial, to roadway and streetscape design, and public parks
  • My role was primarily to act as the main point of contact with the client and coordination of all design work from site selection to due diligence, preliminary site planning to rezoning and comprehensive plan amendments, through construction drawings and construction related services
  • Presentations to government agencies and report writing were an integral part of my work, along with marketing, proposal writing, and contract and construction administration
  • I “semi-retired” from the firm in 2016 and took on an “on call” role to assist in some ongoing projects in California and Alaska
