I was the lead arranger for the Umass Doo Wop Shop from 1996-2000. This a capella group stands stong today with incredible accomplishments. I’m proud to be a part of the first generation.
I started my vocal path singing in the O.K.A.E. National Choir under the direction of Sean Diebler at 12 years. As a tenor I sang with this group at a formative age and learned to love choral singing.
I went on to high school where I made Central Districts every year and was appointed House Quartet. My scores led me to House Quartet at the State level for the next 2 years. I achieved the highest score in the state of Massachusetts which led me to All Easterns as a Senior under the direction of Charlene Archibeque.
I have approximately 40 shows performed on stage including roles of Frederick in The Pirates of Penzance, Curly in Oklahoma, and Matt in The Fantasticks. Notable roles include Billy in Anything Goes and also Carousel. Theater material has been a regular regime I study and keep up on.
In my post college years I performed for over twenty years with accomplished trumpet player and pedagogist Brian Koning who currently is the leader of the Worcester Jazz Collective and educator at Ashland High school. Together, we represent the Worcester Jazz Collective, a collaboration of wonderful musicians from our area playing out in most establishments with live music. It was imperative for us to create a small business to see that venues hold our musicians in high regard, with appropriate accommodation and pay.
While I was in college I held 3 gigs a week at local and regional establishments that paid for my time. I held those jobs for 4 years….3 nights per week.
