- Catering and events- Over the past year, I have become comfortable working large events such as weddings, parties, funerals, etc This is one of my best skills because I am comfortable operating in hectic environments and managing tasks in a high to low priority mindset This mindset is useful in the workplace because it allows you to complete the most pressing tasks first
- Bar Tending- I was previously employed by The Pour Guys, which is a catering service which provides strictly drinks This was a helpful skill to put under my belt because sometimes at my current employers events, we will have to have one of our caterers switch to bartender because we are short staffed at the bar Being able to plug and play in any position while catering makes me a great utility person to keep around
- Valid Tennessee driver's license-This is helpful because I am able to drive company vehicles, and able to be put on the company insurance I was responsible for shuttling customers at the Valet Guys and I am also responsible for driving the catering van at some events for my current job
- Food presentation- This skill has proved to be useful for me time and time again, epically in catering In my current position, we are setting up the event and preparing the food that will be served So this is a skill that I have some practice using
- Sanitation practices- This is a quality I have accrued over many years working in food service This is crucial when handling food because it helps prevent food born illnesses and risk of contamination
- Customer Service-oriented: In my experience, customer service is an extremely important way to let your customers know that they are greatly appreciated It is also a way to make real relationships with people that go deeper than customer and seller With this mindset, I feel like I am extremely valuable and proficient when it comes to communicating with and overall, satisfying the customer
