I have 16+ years' experience of my Neurodiagnostics career in multiple arenas including the outpatient, hospital, remote monitoring and clinical trials fields. I look forward to continuing my growth in this career and continuing to serve the Epilepsy patient community the best I can.
My responsibilities include performing intermittent monitoring on in-home ambulatory patients as well as inpatient ICU patients every 90 minutes, while scanning the recordings between checks for any events. I use Stratus/Centrum and Nihon Kohden software to perform this duty.
I am responsible for assisting with the performance of Site recordings within the Clinical Research Department to ensure all clinical trial protocols are followed in order to be compliant for the Sponsor/CRO. In addition to this, I have participated in training different Sites all the protcols of these recordings. I work under five Project Managers and assist with compiling the data needed in the form of CRF reports and communicating/coordinating with the Sites to schedule their time-sensitive recording schedules.
I fulfilled 40+ hours a week of night shift monitoring shifts and supervising shifts both in the contracted and full-time positions. I checked on in-home ambulatory patients every 90 minutes, ranging from 2-12 patients per shift. As a shift supervisor I was responsible for spearheading troubleshooting Lifelines equipment and WiFi/Bluetooth issues along with maintaining the integrity of recordings, answering patient phone calls, and completing administrative tasks that were added into my workload during my shift.
I fulfilled 40+ hours a week of night shift monitoring shifts, involving watching live monitoring of up to 4 patients ranging from neonates to geriatric patients in shifts ranging from 4-8 hours. I was also a Tech Coordinator where I was responsible for all incoming calls to CortiCare, requesting monitoring from client hospitals, troubleshooting technical issues with any staff, building relationships with other monitoring techs and the in-house techs on a 6-12 hour shift basis. I was also tasked with reviewing and editing two 24-hour ambulatory studies per week. I utilized the Natus, Nihon Kohden, Grass, Cadwell and Stratus softwares in this position.
I was responsible for setting up EEG/LTM patients in all units of the hospital including the EMU, NICU, PICU, CVICU, ER, and all regular patient floors. I performed routine EEGs in our adjacent outpatient facility. I participated in surgical grid cases, attended weekly neuro-teleconferences given by Johns Hopkins, took weekend and holiday call on a rotational basis, and participated in the Pressure Sore Elimination Task Force following and charting skin evaluations. I had the wonderful opportunity to work under multiple neurologists and one Epileptologist for almost 9 years.
I was responsible for setting up 20, 30 and 70 minute outpatient EEGs performed in the office. I was also responsible for the set-up/takedown of ambulatory EEG patients and reviewing/editing the recordings for the ordering neurologists. I assisted with clerical office duties. I was the sole EEG technologist on site under 5 neurologists.
