
Served, at different times, as back up and primary training supervisor, back up Custodian of Records, primary and back up scheduling, recruitment supervisor, hiring supervisor, equipment supervisor, and supervisory CAD/tow coordinator for SCC. Assist with training new PSDSIs. Stepping in at different times to cover managerial duties while SCC had no PSDSIIs or when one was on extended leave, to include overseeing the hiring and training programs, two major SOP revisions, and a workstation install project. Provide supervision for PSDs and PSOs. Maintain proficiency with communications equipment and maintaining dispatching skills in order to supervise floor operations and cover staffing shortages. Prepare annual/probationary reports for operations personnel. Review and document performance issues. Assisting with the management of a communications center by performing a wide variety of routine staff work and administrative duties. Participate in the hiring process for PSDs and PSOs. Review staffing needs and assign voluntary and mandatory overtime as appropriate. Provide leadership and support. Perform peripheral duties related to the operations of the center as assigned coordinate recruitment for the area, and liaison with Communications Center Support Section (CCSS) regarding center and training needs. Answer 9-1-1, public, and 1-800 (Tell) CHP telephone lines as well as making outgoing calls to service providers, allied agencies, and citizens. Provide radio dispatching services to seven CHP offices. Document information in Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system accurately and quickly while taking appropriate action on each call. As a lead trainer within the SCC training team, I assist in the training of new employees on the service desk and radio positions, providing classroom training in various subjects, and orientating transfer employees. Instruct quarterly POST training within the command as well as division wide training for the department's Peer Support Program. Assist with translation services as a certified Spanish translator.
