Discovering a dearth of comprehensive courses on historical sewing, created three highly detailed online courses on historical dress, textiles, and costuming, available for public purchase and enrollment. Coached, mentored, and provided support for up to 20 students as they pursued their goals of making an accurate, authentic costume from scratch.
Selected Accomplishments and Key Results:
Created and delivered an educational public presentation to over 30 museum guests. Utilized a digital microscope to examine and identify textile fibers. Cataloged and prepared storage for dozens of antique garments and textiles. Applied extensive experience in photography to professionally document textiles and write recommendations for the museum about how to photograph collections. Studying a specific set of rare and under-examined garments worn in 1761 C.E., uncovered new information about them, adding to the museum's catalog knowledge base.

“Kelly's assignments were always incredibly well researched with a deep focus on details, creatively organized, and meticulously handcrafted. But what was most important in this student was the passion towards costume history conveyed through every step of her work.”
