  • Job Duties: My duties were many. I cleaned the inside of the building as well as worked outside. I set up for events and cleaned up after them. I scrubbed floors, dishes and did laundry. I occasionally shopped for things we needed and also made the order sheet for our supplies. I cleaned windows, ran the trident, which is a large floor scrubber. I unclogged toilets, painted and retrieved stuck balls from our ceiling rafters. I also interacted with the congregants and prayed.

  • Job duties: I started out as just a housekeeper and worked my way up to Asst. head housekeeper. I cleaned rooms but also inspected other housekeepers rooms for cleanliness.
  • Extra: I worked this job for 5 years. I was requested by Deb while I was working at another Gordon Elliot lodging building. I had worked at the other building for 3 years when I switched. I was also requested by Gordon Elliot to go to Joplin after the tornado to help train and hire new employees at the Candlewood. We spent a couple weeks there deep cleaning the hotel and training the employees. I also am award for putting out an arson fire in the hotel Ann's chasing down the people that started it. I won employee of the year for saving a guest's life when he was acting weird and come to find out he was having a medical emergency.

Personal Reflection

I love working at the church but feel as though my time is coming to an end. I was worried I wouldn't be able to find a place that realizes 'I'm a mother' first. Family should always come before a job. Praying I can find a job that agrees.
